Classroom
Guidance We begin in Kindergarten with I-Care-Cat. We learn all of the I Care Rules, which are important for all people in the world! We learn to share our feelings, care about others, and solve our problems peacefully. We will finish the year with a review of all we have learned, a sing-along and a set of I-Care-Rules for every student! In first grade we use a program called Second Step. We have three great puppets - a puppy, a bunny and a snail. We have really been working on feelings, and how they show in our faces and are felt in our bodies. We care about each other's feelings. We know the sign language for many feelings. We will learn ways to calm down when our feelings are strong, and the steps to take when solving problems. Be sure to check out our feelings poster, made with our very own photos! In Second Grade, we work on a lot of teamwork and friendship lessons. What a team! We enjoy the stories from the TJ Teamwork series. We talk about many ways to get along with all of the people in our lives, and how to solve problems that come along. We also discuss ways to keep ourselves safe, along with being motivated to do our best! Third grade students
are getting
older and we always have so much to talk about. Our topics range
from feelings and friendships and being successful students, to tough
subjects
like grief. We also start to think about our future jobs and
interests.
We have been feeling detectives, learning in detail about feelings in
ourselves
and empathy for others. We will practice ways to calm down when our
feelings are strong,
and the steps to take when solving problems. We also get ready for the
move to our next school. It is a big year. Check back often to see what we are working on! Updated
