The Rochester School Board will recognize employees for outstanding job performance serving the children of Rochester.

Four (4) employees will be selected each month for recognition beginning in September 2006. One employee each month from:
o Elementary School Staff
o Rochester Middle School Staff
o Spaulding High School Staff
o Other School Department employees including SAU Office, Special Education Programs, CIC, Tutoring Academy, Maintenance, and employees without specific building assignments.

RECOGNITION CRITERIA –
• Service above and beyond job description expectations.
• Employee on staff for at least 20 hrs./week,
• Employed in the school dept. for at least one year

NOMINATIONS / SELECTION –
• Nominations submitted by any school staff or member of the community online through the web site, email, or in writing via official form. Nominations due by the 20th of each month.
• Selection Committee will consist of representatives from the School Board, Administration, elementary schools, middle school, high school and other School Department employees. Principals will nominate staff to serve on the committee for one year, beginning on September 1st of each year. Staff volunteers may serve on the committee for no more than 2 consecutive years.
• Committee meets each month to consider nominees
• Nominations will remain active for 3 months from date of submission

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT –
• Special Services Chair and Superintendent to recognize each honoree at their place of work in the first week of each month.
o Take digital picture of Honoree
o Announcement on web site, press release to paper, posted on SAU bulletin board
o Notice to Metrocast for Bulletin Board w/picture
• Official Board Certificate presented to each Employee of the Month at monthly School Board meeting

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT –
• Framed certificate and student generated token of appreciation.
• Monthly engraved award in Board Conference Room with plates for each month
