Our Mission

The mission of The Office of Extended School Programs and Volunteers is to impact student achievement and academic success by expanding and building extended school programs (non-traditional programming) with the help of volunteers. Our goals are attained through enrichment programs, sharing resources, business and community partnerships and parent involvement.

Positive connections are an essential ingredient in building successful businesses, caring neighborhoods, effective government, strong schools and healthy communities. The Rochester School Department is committed to actively connecting with organizations and business as well as parents and other community volunteers. Partnerships may include rotary club projects, adopt-a-school, work-release volunteer programs, etc.

helping handsHistory:

The Rochester School Department and Title 1 recognized the value of partnering with parents, local businesses and community organizations to benefit our students and thus the Office of Extended School Programs and Volunteers was born. This unique initiative was launched in 1999 and continues to evolve with changes in the schools’ needs and available resources.
