Volunteers in Rochester Schools

Parent and community volunteers are an integral part of helping the Rochester School District to best meet the needs of our students. Hundreds of volunteers contribute thousands of hours of service annually. We express our heartfelt thanks to the many parents, businesses, service organizations, UNH students, United Way volunteers, Air Force National Guard personnel, youth organizations and other community members who share the valuable gift of their time to benefit Rochester’s students.

Volunteer Opportunities

helping hands Breakfast Bunch - Breakfast Story Time

Share the pure joy or a great book and start your day out right. Bring smiles of pleasure to elementary-aged students as they listen to a well-loved story while eating breakfast. Breakfast story time is a favorite among students (all fun and no tests!)

helping handsLunch Time/Story Time - Feed young minds while they are filling their bellies!

Remember the days of school cafeteria lunches? Help spice up lunchtime by sharing the joy of a great book with a small group of elementary age students. (Students with food in their mouths often make the best listeners!)
helping handsDrop Everything and Read!

Join the excitement and help students and staff celebrate the joy of reading. Volunteers can choose to listen to a child read, or read to an individual student, to small groups or to a whole class.

helping handsSchool Library Helper - Catalog books, reshelf books, read to students and more.

Love books? Love libraries? Help Rochester Schools to boost their library services to students. Library helpers may assist students to select books, read to students, catalog books, return books to shelves, input books on computer databases, etc.
