Dear Parents of Chamberlain, East Rochester and McClelland Elementary School Students:
Your child may be eligible to receive Supplemental Educational Services (SES), which are free tutoring services provided outside of the regular school day. The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 requires the district to set aside Title 1 funds for Supplemental Educational Services to assist students who receive free or reduced-price lunch and who attend a Title 1 school that was unsuccessful at making Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for three or more years. Your child’s school meets those requirements. Please note that if the district determines that there are not sufficient funds to provide services to all eligible students whose parents requested the services, the district will provide services to students demonstrating greatest academic need.
You may choose a supplemental educational services provider for your child and you may contact the provider you have chosen to initiate services. To help you make an informed choice, please review the services here that includes the following:
If you wish your child to participate in the program, please list three providers in the order of your preference on the Title 1, Supplemental Educational Services Notice of Intent, 2009-2010. The district/school will make every effort to assign your child to your first choice.
Please mail or deliver the Title 1, Supplemental Educational Services Notice of Intent for 2008-2009 on or before October 27, 2009 to your child’s school so that we may begin the intake process with the provider you have contacted. If you have questions or need additional information, please contact your building principal or you may call me at 332-4090, ext. #313.
Sincerely,
Coby Troidl,
S.E.S. Coordinator
