Choice/Title 1

Under the No Child Left Behind Act, each Title I school identified as a School in Need of Improvement is required to provide public school choice. In implementing this option to transfer, there may be circumstances in which the LEA (local education agency) needs to give priority to the lowest achieving children from low income families (Section 1116(b)(1)(E)(ii).
