Academic Learning Lab (ALL)
Designed to help (ALL) students succeed in their individual educational programs, offering success to students in (ALL) facets of their academic life. Support services including classroom modifications, tutoring, studying, test taking skills and direct instruction within the Academic Learning Lab program. Computer Education Learning Lab (CELL)
Virtual High School (VHS) offers over 200 semester courses in the Arts, Business, Foreign Language, Language Arts, Life Skills, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Technology.
PLATO offers web based learning, instruction and assessment. Basic to advanced level instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, interdisciplinary learning and life and job skills will be offered.In addition to Virtual High School and PLATO, programming the Computer Education Learning Lab (CELL) will offer computer and technology courses including graphic design, web page design, computer literacy, networking and database management.
PBIS/RENEW Facilitator
BCA staff and students are in the second year of APEX II programming. Team members have participated in the assessment and improvement of school climate, safety, and learning. APEX staff is providing training and support to develop data driven positive behavioral supports. Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) are being completed on all students and all students are slated to participate in Rehabilitation, Empowerment, Natural supports, Education and Work (RENEW), an intensive individualized school-to-career service for the most at risk students
The PBIS/RENEW Facilitator will work with all students enrolled in the alternative school program providing individual student centered planning and intensive school-to career services. Programming provides strategies for developing Personalized Learning Plans for students who need individualized, customized supports, particularly through the RENEW program. Facilitator will identify individual students who are struggling to complete their program or who have already dropped out and develop individualized, student-directed school-to-career plans using an evidence-based practice called RENEW (Rehabilitation, Empowerment, Natural supports, Education and Work).
