Rochester School Department Curriculum Connection

 INTRODUCTION:
The Mission of the Rochester School Department is to ensure quality educational experiences for all learners.  An important step to achieving this mission involves the use of "good educational practices" based upon a solid curriculum.

When the New Hampshire Department of Education released Curriculum Frameworks for the four content areas in 1996, Rochester began the task of realigning and reviewing its curricula.  The standards outlined in the frameworks define not only what our students need to know, but also emphasizes the application of these standards.

The New Hampshire Curriculum Framework K-12 broad goals for each core area are listed in this web site with a link to the New Hampshire State Department of Education.  This link provides a complete listing of all the proficiency standards for each content area.

The Rochester School Department is in the process of aligning our district curriculum guides with the state proficiency standards.  Please review the Five Year Curriculum Implementation Guide for Rochester School Department's plan of action for curriculum implementation.
