READ ACROSS ROCHESTER
In January 2003 the Rochester School
Board voted to accept the 90% Reading
Goal for Rochester students. This means
the goal is for your child to be reading on
or above grade level at the end of his or
her third grade year. To accomplish this
goal the Rochester School District
Educators are asking all students to
get involved with the “Read Across
Rochester” summer
reading program. Later in June all
K-4 Nancy Loud School students will
be taking home a booklet with a list of
books for suggested summer reading …
READ! READ! READ! So encourage
your child to read this summer so he or
she will meet the 90% reading goal!
Then have your child take the filled out
reading sheet to his or her teacher in
September.
MY LEARNING ROCKS
A computer based program will be
available for all students to help
reinforce Math and Reading skills.
All children will have a log in and
password for this summer program.
The computer lab will be open during
the summer for students to drop in
and utilize “My Learning Rocks.”
More information will come home
with your child at the end of June.
READ! READ! READ!
REMINDER: Help your child meet Rochester’s
90% Reading Goal. Please continue to read with your
child every day for 20 minutes.
