Anyone and everyone may qualify to become a “Merit Club”
member, every quarter of the school year, if he/she desires to.
It is hard work, but rewarding! “Merit Club” candidates
feel good because they know they are capable and successful. They
know they are building a happy future for themselves. “Merit
Club” members are not afraid of responsibility. Responsible
students have more choices and privileges. Some special honors
associated with being a “Merit Club” member include:
Special Hallway Pass
Special Quarterly Activity
Name in various special drawings
Lunch room privileges
How do you become a “Merit Club”member?
Demonstrate outstanding effort and behavior in all classes.
Submit 2 or more Blue Ribbon cards for that quarter.
Be involved in one or more co-curricular activities for that quarter
(This may include 4-H, Youth Football, ballet)
OR
Complete 2 or more hours of community service for that quarter.
How do you receive Blue Ribbons Cards?
Teachers will reward academically outstanding work in class by
giving students Blue Ribbon Cards. Each teacher will determine
the criteria for earning a Blue Ribbon Card. You will be given
a Blue Ribbon card as recognition of your achievement. All Blue
Ribbon Cards will be distributed in class by an administrator.
Save all your Blue Ribbon cards each quarter. You will need them
should you decide to participate in our “Merit Club”
program.
How do you earn Community Service hours?
Help a grandparent or neighbor by raking leaves, emptying the
trash, shoveling snow, helping with chores, run an errand, be
part of a service organization, help clean the park, wash a car,
etc.
Reminder !!!
Once you have completed the above, return the forms to the office for your entry into the “Merit Club”
for that particular quarter. Remember, all the tasks need to be
completed in one quarter!
