by Melissa D.

Fushigi Yugi—Rival,
vol. 5 by Yu Watase is a book of deceit, despair, and false love.
I picked this book because it is in an unbelievable series. Yu Watase
captures the beautiful world of ancient China with 21st century
China.
Maika, Chichir, and Tasukie go to rival city Qu-dong to receive
a fellow celestial warrior Tamahome and Yui, the supposed friend
of Maika. Do they get Yui and Tamahome or does Yui change her mind?
Read to find out.
The book was so suspenseful and unbelievable I couldn’t put
it down. Right when you read the first page, you are absolutely
hooked. Anyone who likes action, suspense, and romance would love
this book.
***** I
give it five stars!

Fever
By Waylon B.

I have always thought that all books that look boring are, but
after I read Fever by Laurie
Halse Anderson, I changed my mind.
Fever is a book about a girl
whose father owns a coffee shop but dies of a mysterious disease.
She is traveling with her grandfather, a war veteran. She breaks
out with the fever and is sent to a hospital that is told to be
a horrible hospital. Will she survive or will she die?
I thought that Fever was an
excellent book and think that people who like suspense and excitement
will like it, too. Five stars.

Beyond the Deep Woods
Katelyn O.
Hawks
Have you ever thought about a bear being your friend?
Twig, the main character, never has either. Until . . . Read the
book and find out. The name of the book is Beyond
the Deep Woods by Paul Stuart.
My favorite part of the book was when Twig went out to find out
what he really was. He didn’t know what he was because his
wood troll mother told him that he was spread away from his family
when he was a baby, and the wood trolls took care of him. Read the
book to find out what happens on his great journey.
This book was a great, suspenseful book. I liked it a lot. I would
recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy. The star rating
on this book for me would probably be 4 1/2 stars. I really hope
you like this book.

Among the Enemy
by Margaret Peterson Haddix is a suspenseful book. I was never a
fan of imaginary books, but this really drew me in.
In this book, Matthias, Percy and Alia go to an army camp and then
they get on a bus. The bus is taking them to a place where they
will be killed. They may be killed or escape. Read the book to find
out.
It was a five star book. I liked it because I always wanted to read
more to find out what would happen. |
A Child Called It
by Tenika H.
A Child Called “It”
is a sad story about David Pelzer. He is abused and neglected by
his mother. Could you imagine!
In one part, David’s mother tells him to lie on top of the
hot stove! He is trying to resist until his brother comes home.
Will his plan to resist work? Read the book to find out.
I loved this book. I would give it a million stars if I could. I
loved and I think you would too.
