6th and 7th graders will be graded on a daily classwork,
selected readings, competency skill sheets, tests, and quizzes,
as well as project work. Students may check their progress
on a weekly basis. Progress reports will be given with an
approximate grade after the first six weeks of the term.

Projects are completed in the 6th Grade.
These include a me bag, flag, and a sewing project.
In the 7th Grade, students construct a dream
room project and a final cooking project in the World Foods
Unit.
8th graders will decorate a portfolio and complete
and complete a baby journal.
All projects will have a rubric for grading
requirements.
Daily Classwork will show students full cooperation, participation,
and work habits in class / the foods lab.
Students will earn daily points.
Skill Sheets / Lab Work will be given to demonstrate the concepts
and reading vocabulary. This work will be done in class.
Tests and Quizzes will be given periodically during the term.
Students can re-do any test or quiz on their own time. Please
see Mrs. Nelson to make the arrangements to do this procedure.
Different tests and methods of testing will be used.
8th Graders will be graded on Projects,
Skill Sheets, Tests and Quizzes, Daily Class Work, and Community
Service. These have been explained above except for Community
Service.

Community Service. All 8th graders are expected to
show respect and responsibility to the school and our School
Community. They may be asked to read to the 1 st graders at
McCleland, help a teacher here at the Middle School, or be
a buddy to a student on the Apple Team. They are expected
to show up on time to fulfill their task. A rubric will be
given.
