DIPLOMA REQUIREMENTS
English (Language Arts): 4 credits
English 1,2,3,4; College Comp. ENR or Eng. Lang. & Comp. AP can replace
Eng 4; ESOL
Mathematics: 3 credits
And, beginning with the class of 2010, students on the standards-based mathematics
pathway must also successfully complete Math Conn 2A in order to
graduate (i.e., earning, in many cases, four credits of math – not three).
Social Studies: 2 1/2 credits
1 credit US History, 1/2 credit Economics, 1/2 credit Civics, 1/2 credit Global
Studies.
Modern World History, Current Issues, Contemporary Problems Honors also
satisfies the global studies requirement.
Marketing ENR, Marketing Education (Som.) also satisfy the economics
requirement.
American Gov/Prac Law satisfies the civics requirement.
Science: 3 credits
1 credit of any physical science, 1 credit Biology, and 1 credit of any other science.
Physical science choices: Integrated Freshman Science, Chemistry, Physics.
Choices for third credit: Biology AP, Consumer Chemistry, Environmental
Science, Human Biology, Integrated Freshman Science, Chemistry, Physics,
Anatomy & Physiology, Principles of Technology, AS 210 and AS 300 combined,
Electricity 1/2, Computer Technology 1 (Rochester), Health Science Technology
1, Horticulture (one year), Introduction to Computer Repair,
Microbiology/Biotechnology ENR, Animal Science 1 (Dover),
Horticulture/Landscaping 1 (Somersworth), Robotics 1 (Somersworth).
Arts Education: 1/2 credit
Any Music/Fine Arts class, Art 1, Housing & Home Decor, Graphic
Communication Technology, Graphic Design, Architectural & Engineering
Technology 1, or Graphic Design/Printing Technology 1.
Physical Education: 1 credit
Health Education: 1/2 credit
Digital Portfolio
All students must create a personal digital portfolio before graduation.
Total credits required for graduation: 26 credits

HONORS DIPLOMA
To earn an HONORS DIPLOMA, a student must earn a minimum of 75% of their credits at the ENR, H, or AP levels – and earn a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
MODIFIED DIPLOMA
The MODIFIED DIPLOMA is granted to special education students and foreign exchange students who meet the criteria for successful completion of their respective requirements for graduation. The diploma will state that it is modified. The twenty credits required to earn a modified diploma include the following: English: 4 credits Social Studies: 1 credit Reading/Writing: 4 credits Nutrition, Health & Safety Skills: 1/2 credit Mathematics: 4 credits Electives: 4 1/2 credits Science: 1 credit PE: 1 credit Total Credits:20 Each skills-level student in line for a modified diploma will have an IEP meeting set-up by the Special Education Department to determine diploma eligibility in line with their individual needs. This meeting will give the parent, student and involved personnel the opportunity
CREDITS FOR CLASS STANDING:
Class standing is determined by the number of credits a student has at the end of a school year.
Sophomore: 5 credits minimum
Junior: 11 credits minimum
Senior: 18 credits minimum
