Before you start creating your web page remember you need to……

• Design your page to appeal to your audience.
• Coordinate the design of your page with your school's home page.
• Make your page informative.
• Make your page easy to read
  • Use a san serif font - The crisp, clean, uncluttered lines of these sans serif fonts are favorites that designers turn to again and again. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sans_serif
• Make your colors inviting so people will want to stay. (Your page needs to be visually appealing!)
  • Test colors online with this Color Picker.
• Make your page easy to understand and navigate.
  • The easiest way to create an easy to navigate site is to take the time to plan the structure of your site before you start building it. This simply means you decide roughly what pages your site will have and how they will link together. • Make sure your page loads fast. (Download time should be 10 seconds or less!)
  • Remember... All internet users want to get to where they are going fast and will not wait longer than 10 seconds or less before navigating away from your page.!
• Update your page regularly.
• Check to make sure your links work whenever you update your site.

  • Identify the Goals of Your Website
  • Identify Your Audience
  • Create a List of Content That You Both Achieve Your Goals and Be of Interest to Your Audience.
  • Divide This List into Pages
  • Draw a Chart of Links Between Pages
