We suggest that Rochester School District employees and students
use SeaMonkey HTML editor. SeaMonkey HTML editor is included in the SeaMonkey
browser. This is an open source browser which makes both the browser and composer
free to all users. SeaMonkey is the new name for and replaces Mozilla. Unlike
Mozilla and the older version of Netscape composer, which we were previously
using, SeaMonkey uses cutting edge technology. If you are still using Netscape
Composer, please discontinue its use now. You may continue Using SeaMonkey Composer
if it is installed on your computer. If it is not installed on your computer,
contact the CIC and will arrange the installation of SeaMonkey. The interface
of the these editors is almost exactly the same so you should have no problem
with the transition. If you would like to know more about the development of
SeaMonkey, visit
their site.
If you want to create your web page using HTML code you may do that using notepad
or Word Pad. If you are thinking about using another program that is not installed
on your school computer contact the webmaster@rochesterschools.com
for assistance.
Remember, you must have a licensed copy of the software and most licenses
cover installation on one machine only.
The directions to install SeaMonkey on your computer can be found on the Installing SeaMonkey page . Follow them exactly.
