This summer, Spaulding High School FBLA kicked off the season by traveling to the Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference (NLC) in San Antonio, Texas! Five of our outstanding members earned the opportunity to compete on the national stage after qualifying at the New Hampshire State Leadership Conference. Our students represented Spaulding in Financial Planning and Social Media Strategies while also attending leadership workshops, participating in the Eastern Region Conference, and exploring the NLC Expo, where they connected with colleges, businesses, and professionals from across the country. The week provided countless opportunities to build leadership skills, expand professional networks, and create lasting friendships with FBLA members from every state.
Beyond the competitions, our students fully embraced the NLC experience. One of the week's highlights was the annual FBLA Pin Trading, where students collect unique pins from every state. New Hampshire's highly sought-after three-piece pin set quickly became a favorite among attendees, while Utah's creative Crumbl Cookie cart pin—with cookie wheels—was another crowd favorite. When they weren't competing or networking, our group explored San Antonio's beautiful Riverwalk, sampled incredible local restaurants, and spent an unforgettable afternoon at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Mrs. B proudly joined the students on roller coaster after roller coaster…until she finally declared, "No more!"
Our students returned home on July 3 with much more than competition experience. They came back with new friendships, stronger leadership skills, unforgettable memories, and a renewed excitement for the year ahead. Next year's National Leadership Conference will be held in Columbus, Ohio, and every Spaulding FBLA member has the opportunity to qualify by competing at the New Hampshire State Leadership Conference each March in Manchester.
