On Friday the second grade team celebrated the culmination of the Early Asian Civilization Unit with a celebration of all they had learned about the Indus River and Yellow & Yangtze River civilizations! They celebrated Diwali & Chinese New Year by making lanterns, exploring the Chinese zodiac, getting "red envelopes", & eating rice with chopsticks, mandarins, & fortune cookies! They also did a direct drawing of the Great Wall of China and wrote their names with Chinese characters. They had a blast!
