National School Counseling Week

With the theme of “School Counselors: Helping Students Dream Big,” National School Counseling Week, Feb. 6-10, aims to highlight school counselors' invaluable contribution to our schools and students. School counselors have a tremendous impact on helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. They actively assist students in examining their abilities, strengths, interests, and talents. Our school counselors also work to create partnerships with parents as they encounter the challenges of raising children in today’s world. They focus on positive ways to enhance students’ academic, career and social/emotional development and work with teachers and other educators to provide an educational system where students can realize their potential and set healthy, realistic and optimistic aspirations. School counselors are certified, experienced educators with degrees in school counseling. The combination of their training and experience makes them an integral part of the total educational program. This week and all school year, we salute our school counselors.
